International Podcast Day is September 30. Here’s how to start the conversation and celebrate podcasting!

Thanks to Steve Lee, lead founder of International Podcast Day and a podcast host at Modern Life Podcast Network, for joining me in this episode!
What is International Podcast Day?
International Podcast Day is your day to start the conversation about podcasting. But it’s also an official day that we, as a global community can come together to make a concerted effort to growing the podcast industry. The day has even been proclaimed in California!
Steve got the idea for starting International Podcast Day by listening to the radio and realizing there are official days for other meaningful and meaningless purposes.
In 2014, we hosted the first National Podcast Day, but have since rebranded to embrace the worldwide audience by calling in International Podcast Day.

- Help your friends find a podcast they would enjoy
- Write reviews for your favorite podcasts
- Donate to your favorite podcasts

International Podcast Day Gratitude Award
There are already great podcast awards (People’s Choice Podcast Awards and The Academy of Podcasters Awards) and we’re announcing a new award for the podcast that makes the most impact.
The International Podcast Day Gratitude Award is sponsored and powered by My Podcast Reviews™. Here’s how to enter.
- Submit your own podcast to the Gratitude Award.
- Ask your audience to write or update a review in iTunes or Stitcher between September 1 and 26. Especially ask them to include what kind of impact your podcast has had on them.
This is not a game with raw numbers. We’ve designed the algorithm so that small podcasts will have an equal chance to win as the big podcasts.
The winner will receive a beautiful plaque and free account on My Podcast Reviews.
Even if you don’t win the award, you still win from your audience by getting a load of great new reviews and expressions of gratitude!
Live podcasting events on September 30
International Podcast Day actually starts first in Australia and moves around the world across time zones.
We’ll be hosting office live streams throughout the day from many countries (and probably in many languages). Stay updated and subscribe on International Podcast Day’s website for the upcoming schedule.
