If you have your own domain and website, have WordPress with PowerPress, and you don’t care about unreliable RSS stats, what benefits does FeedBurner even provide?
Wayne Henderson (from Packers Fan Podcast) heard me mention FeedBurner and repeat my recommendation against it in 21 things podcasters should learn from the Podcast Awards.
I still think that FeedBurner is unnecessary for most podcasters. But even if you have everything right, there are only three potential benefits of FeedBurner for podcasting (but I still recommend using something else for these):
- Email subscriptions
- Feed caching
- Feed portability

Hello, I am somehow with you for that podcast thing but what you say about these ordinary benefits is they are useful?

Those benefits are all right, but they can all be done better with other tools. And some of them, like Atom, are downright unnecessary. Faithfully,
